Why Is My Portfolio Diversified?

Recently the out-performance of Large U.S. companies like those found in the S&P 500 index has prompted some investors to ask themselves, “Why do I invest in anything but the S&P 500?”

The answer is simple: Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

Several years ago, we developed a video to explain why a diversified portfolio is so important. We used the Callan Periodic Table of Investment Returns to illustrate the concept.

The image below will take you to Callan’s most recent periodic table, or you can click here. You may want to have it handy while you watch the video. We hope that you will find it useful.

If you have any questions or would like an additional explanation, please feel free to contact us at 610-695-8070.
